Product description
Benzoin is a tropical tree with pale green leaves and hard-shelled fruit. The resin is obtained by making incisions in the bark and allowing the sap to flow. Traditionally it was used as incense to dispel evil spirits. This oil is 20% benzoin solubilised in glycol and is pourable at room temperature. The INCI is Glycol, Styrax Benzoin Resin Extract. Benzoin, also known as Friars Extract, has a delicious, deep, nurturing aroma and blends well with most oils. Its initial aroma is medium to light, largely owing to it being a slow evaporating base note oil. Botanical Family: Styracaceae Commonly associated with: Soothing for a feeling of relaxed breathing. Emotionally comforting and uplifting so often used when feeling sad or lonely. Spiritually associated with the root chakra. In skincare it is added to creams and massage oils for tired muscles & joints. It is an excellent addition to hand and foot creams for very dry and chapped skin. Consider adding to soaps and creams for gardeners and those who wash their hands a great deal.
